Panhellenic Recruitment

Picture
Geneseo's primary recruitment occurs during the Spring semester of each year. On our campus, Panhellenic recruitment consists of four rounds, described below.
Stay tuned for our 2020 Panhellenic Recruitment dates!

Open House

Open house is the first round of Panhellenic formal recruitment. During open house, PNMs will visit each of the five Panhellenic sororities for 45 minutes with 15 minute breaks in between each round. Rho Gammas will assist PNMs in finding their rooms and will be available to answer questions in between rounds.

Philanthropy Night

Philanthropy Night is the second round or formal recruitment. You will travel to each sororities room and learn about the philanthropic initiatives of each organization. All rounds are 45 minutes with a 15 minute break between each round. You can be invited back to a maximum of four organizations.

Second Invite

Second invite is the third round of formal recruitment, during which you can be invited back to up to three Panhellenic sororities. Second invite is the last "informal" opportunity you have to show the organizations who you are! Second invite typically takes place at an organization's' house or at an on campus classroom. You will have one hour at each organization with 15 minute breaks in between to allow for travel time.

Final Preference

You can be invited back to up to two formals. Rho gammas will take you to each of your formal locations and you will have the opportunity to interact with sisters in a more formal setting which usually involves some type of food. Each formal is 60 minutes with a 30 minute break in between to travel between locations. Final preference immediately follows in Newton. Silent day begins following formal.

Bid Day

Bid Day signifies the end of your Panhellenic recruitment experience!

After each round of recruitment you will submit preferences to your Rho Gamma. Each round you will choose one less sorority than the last round. If one of the sororities you preference, does not also preference you, you may be invited back to the sorority that you dropped. You will have the greatest opportunity to receive a bid if you maximize your preferences each round. This means you choose to rank all the sororities that you visited that round. You should rank them all, even if you feel as though one of the organizations is not for you.
